Security Experts Helping Small Business
Attention Business Editors:
TORONTO, Feb. 21 /CNW/ - Consumer demand for security/privacy
practices in Canada exceeds supply. Security experts find alarming
lack of security concern among Canadian SMEs; warn that small business
sector is missing significant opportunities.
Informatica (www.InformationSecurityCanada.com)
president Claudiu Popa: "fewer than 25% of small businesses
practice common sense with
security/privacy placing themselves and their customers at risk
of data loss, privacy compliance breaches, legal liability and most
certainly loss of business".
A survey of 75 companies found that only 20% adequately
secure
communications, wireless systems and sensitive data. But two thirds
of
consumers demand better security practices and accountability.
Informatica's FlexProtect support program gives
small businesses an
affordable way to understand risks, secure systems and websites,
control information assets and exploit profit opportunities.
