Informatica offers free security support to SMBs

Information security specialists Informatica Corporation have introduced a free security support service for Ontario-based small and mid-sized businesses.
FlexProtect Basic offers unlimited email access to experienced security professionals to discuss security concerns and reduce the threats created by hacking, viruses, theft, and unprepared staff.

"This allows clients to get familiar with our service and become more aware about security in general," said Informatica president Claudiu Popa.

The program offers other opportunities for customers.

"In addition, services such as FlexProtect Basic increase our client's degree of understanding and makes the decision process easier and more effective," said Popa.

Popa said he believed the offering to be the first of its kind.

"Informatica's vast expertise in information security goes back some 15 years and is founded on sound business principles, processes, and best practices," said Popa.

"This approach makes our offerings particularly well suited to the small and mid-size market in Canada by allowing clients to 'grow' into their chosen solutions and maximize the value gained at every step of the process."

The FlexProtect Basic offering is being offered at no charge to Ontario-based businesses for at least for the next four weeks.

"It offers businesses a convenient way to access expert knowledge about non-urgent issues related to their business," Popa said.

"The support program is good for 36 months from the registration date. We require a $75 payment to cover part of the initial administrative costs related to collecting and storing client information."

FlexProtect business security management and support program is scalable. Clients can opt to register for the next three FlexProtect programs, which in turn cover dedicated security support, monthly security management, managed security in real time.

"Each plan is 36 months in duration, and is customized to the individual structure of the business that we support," said Popa.

"One of the most important aspects of our service is that everything about our client base is confidential, therefore our clients can have peace of mind along with the assurance that their valuable information is safe and secure."

Informatica Security provides businesses with advanced security audits (FlexSecure Verify) and employee/end-user security education (WorkLife Learning).
